FileAutomation Tools Plug-In v. 1.0

 

DESCRIPTION:

This plug-in provides tools to switch between Rhino 3.0 and AutoDesk AutoCad or Adobe Illustrator via file or clipboard.
8 new commands are included.


COMMANDS:

CopyToIllustrator
This command exports the selected objects in Adobe Illustrator format then copies the Illustrator file objects to the Windows clipboard.

PasteFromIllustrator
This command imports into the current document the objects selected in the Illustrator active document. You don't need to copy them from Illustrator into the clipboard.

SendToIllustrator
This commands sends the current Rhino document to Adobe Illustrator. The Rhino document is NOT automatically saved.

GetFromIllustrator
This command opens the currently active Illustrator document in Rhino 3.0.
NOTE: the Illustrator document is SAVED during the execution, so please make sure there are no unwanted changes or make a copy of the file before executing.

CopyToAutoCad
This command exports the selected objects in AutoDesk AutoCad format then copies the AutoCad file objects to the Windows clipboard and switches toAutoCad executing the "paste" operation.

PasteFromAutoCad
This command imports into the current document the objects selected in the AutoCad active document. You don't need to copy them from AutoCad into the clipboard.

SendToAutoCad
This commands sends the current Rhino document to AutoDesk AutoCad. The Rhino document is NOT automatically saved.

GetFromAutoCad
This command opens the currently active AutoCad document in Rhino 3.0.
NOTE: the AutoCad document is NOT SAVED during the execution.

NOTES:

  • All the commands work with the current import/export settings. If you want to change them, manually export/import to/from an Illustrator or AutoCad file with the desired settings. From then on, the new settings will be active.
  • Some commands write a temporary file called "C:\_temp.ai" and delete it at the end of the command execution.
  • If you have an AntiVirus installed, it is possible to get a warning about a dangerous script. This is because the Antivirus prevents unknown macros and script from writing on your drives. You can avois this by autorizing the script.
    The drive operations executed are on a temporary text file, anyway we won't be responsible for any loss of data, or other damages caused by this program. "Run it at your own risk!" :-)
