Thanks to the integration among Rhino, Cycles and Grasshopper, it is now possible to create 3D animations of parametric definitions directly within Grasshopper without the need for external render plug-ins.

Since for each frame a new parametric model is generated, a big advantage compared to working with external applications is that there is no need to export each model separately and to handle big size files: for each frame the geometry is created, stored temporarily in Grasshopper and deleted after the render is completed.

The Grasshopper-Cycles integration is stilla bit rough and there is still need for some workarounds, but is already usable.

I’ll soon post new tests, as well as details and tutorials on how to create the Möbius-inspired solid and to setup this type of animations.
