This is the first architectural entry in this series. The goal was to recreate from scratch the basic facade sculptural design of the Aqua Tower by Studio Gang Architects.
The definition uses an image as a source for the shapes of the various concrete floor slabs. It is sampled with the Image Sample component and the resulting values are used to offset the contour and create the sculptural effect. Given the time constraints of a daily challenge the balcony handrails are missing - I'll add them in the next iteration.
The image used is a blurred version of a picture of sand dunes, which lends an organic, natural quality to the design.
The definition is flexible enough to be used for creating completely different designs - something I plan to do for some of the next entries.
