After a pause I’m back with a ParametricDaily entry: this time it is a solid 3D pattern design that uses a different approach compared to the past designs, with a non-standard tessellation.

I created two separate parts for building the pattern as a pure NURBS geometry or as a clean SubDiv-ready mesh, with detailed control over the distribution of the vertices and the positioning of the supporting edge loops.

This pattern design is already used in production by Austrian company ZWEIKAMPF which produces 3D printed Shin Guards.
